Residents and staff at Kewarra Aged Care celebrated in style with a sumptuous party to kick off the Christmas season.
Some of Santa’s extra-special helpers (Nicky and the lifestyle team), got to work setting up a beautiful Christmas table and soon it was laden down with goodies prepared by talented Chef Carsten.
Residents were treated to a refreshing Gazpacho with marinated king prawn to start, followed by roasted chicken breast with cranberry, bacon, and caramelized onion. All of the trimmings were there with crispy chats, seasonal vegetables and roast pumpkin.
Of course, no Christmas feast would be complete without plum pudding, served with chef’s special brandy custard and bourbon vanilla ice cream and if anyone had a space left, there was cinnamon-orange panna cotta with sabayon sauce. Yum!
Alan Russack entertained partygoers, belting out all of the Christmas favourites and everyone got into the festive spirit, dancing and singing along. One delighted resident commented on the, ‘buzz in the air’ and everyone had the most wonderful day.
The special bond between residents and staff was obvious and a huge thanks to Shem Maunes for the beautiful photos that captured the merriment on the day.
