We celebrated our 1st birthday on Monday 14th August.
There was a wonderful afternoon tea for everyone to enjoy – staff, residents and volunteers as it’s the people that make our home so special.
The festivities took place in the coffee hub with balloons, hanging decorations, party hats and of course it wouldn’t be a birthday without a delicious cake! The catering team baked up delightful cakes and slices. These were enjoyed by all.
It was a wonderful opportunity for us to acknowledge and thank all our volunteers. The Cairns Lionesses who have donated iPods and earphones for music therapy, Daisy the dog who provides unlimited love and cuddles, our Pastoral support Rev Elizabeth and Josette. Special mention to Margaret for her volunteer work (her husband was one of the first residents to move in). We thank all of our volunteers for their support!
Facility Manager Donna Howe, made a lovely speech and also thanked staff for their hard work and dedication and their personal contribution in creating such a warm and friendly home for residents and their families to enjoy.
The home is fill of happy residents who are loving life here at Kewarra Aged Care.
